About Drop Earrings Not Bombs
Drop Earrings Not Bombs (DENB) is created in 2017 by a women-led social enterprise "Muhra" in Istanbul, Turkey. Muhra is an Arabic word for "female foal", representing the strength and vitality of female leaders.
The social enterprise Muhra teaches Syrian female artisans design and handcraft these beautiful earrings.

Support Syrian family In Turkey
The goal of this DENB is not only to foster the empowerment of Syrian female artisans, but also to support them to earn a decent income and develop transferable skills. Most important of all, to develop a sense of ownership and confidence during this process.
This project provides enough flexibility for the Syrian artisans. They are able to work based on their family schedule, so as to find a good balance between taking care of family needs while having a dignified income.

An Opportunity To Rebuild A Life
Also, The 'Drop Earrings Not Bombs' projects help create conversations and rebuild social connections between their peers. The Syrian artisans are encouraged to join in versatile social activities, language classes, and different community programs, supporting them to better fitting into the immigrant society.
